Lanzarote came as a revelation to me. Any 'Lanzagrote' preconceptions I had before my wife finally convinced me to visit the island were dispelled on the drive from the airport to Maguez. The north of the island is green and in January was covered in flowers. The landscape is great and the walking from the door of the Casita is first rate. The village of Maguez (as well as Haria and Ye) are pretty and as far removed from Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen as the Villages of the Sussex downs are from Brighton (or any other comparator e.g. Blackpool, Margate etc). The Casita is in the middle of the village and is ideal for a couple. It is rustic but well equipped. The style is very Canarian with separate rooms connected by terraces and outside steps. Linda and Peter, whose house the Casita is attached to, are friendly, without being intrusive. Would I recommend it? Well we have booked a trip next year.

Casita acogedora, relax total y anfitriones estupendos.
Estuvimos una semana alojados en esta casita a finales de junio y fue todo un acierto. La casita está adosada a la de los propietarios, Peter y Linda, que son ingleses y son superamables. Ellos te dejan a tu aire, pero también les puedes preguntar por recomendaciones. Después de nuestra primera noche, a la mañana siguiente Linda nos sorprendió con un estupendo bizcocho de chocolate. Y más adelante, como coincidió con la noche de San Juan, nos invitaron a su casa a compartir cena junto con unos amigos suyos. Aceptamos sin dudarlo! La casita tiene en su planta baja el comedor cocina y un porche cubierto con un sofá tipo chillout, y una mesa y dos sillas, donde desayunábamos todos los días muy a gusto. En la planta de arriba, a la que se accede por una escalera exterior se encuentra la habitación con una cama de matrimonio (muy cómoda y grande) y una cama pequeña, todo muy amplio y con mucho sitio para dejar tus cosas. Además, fuera está el solarium con dos hamacas y el baño, también muy amplio, con lavadora y una ducha espaciosa. Estuvimos encantados de pasar allí esa semana de nuestras vacaciones y nos encantaría volver de nuevo.

Casa con todo lo necesario para pasar una semana y más con todas las comodidades. Cocina con todo lo necesario, cama cómoda y muy limpio todo. La terraza es perfecta para desayunar o cenar. El Wifi va rápido. Peter es una persona muy atenta,a Linda no tuvimos la oportunidad de conocerla, quizás en otra ocasión. Viven en la casa de al lado pero te dejan completamente a tu aire. La recomiendo 100% y más si no te gustan las aglomeraciones de apartamentos y turistas, el pueblo es muy tranquilo y estás a 10 minutos de cualquier parte de la zona norte de la isla, a 20 de timanfaya y a algo menos una hora de la zona sur. Die mit einem eigenen Eingang versehene Ferienwohnung verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche, einem Wohnzimmerbereich mit bequemer Couch, einem gemütlichen Sessel, einer Terrasse mit Blich in den herrlichen Garten direkt vor dem Wohnzimmer und über eine Aussentreppe ist das sehr geräumige und helle Schlafzimmer zu erreichen. Das Bad und die private Sonnenterrasse mit zwei Liegestühlen befinden sich ebenfalls im Obergeschoss. Die englischen Vermieter, Linda und Peter, sind hilfsbereite und diskrete Gastgeber, die einem jederzeit gute Tipps geben. Ein Auto ist empfehlenswert; man ist in wenigen Minuten in Haria und auf der Schnellstrasse oder am Strand in Arrieta mit seinen hervorragenden Fischrestaurants.

Beautiful, peaceful house.
The accommodation is everything you could hope for. Set in the beautiful village of Maguez, the house is a tranquil oasis with plenty of light in all the rooms and a fantastic porch on which to relax.. It has been tastefully decorated in a traditional style, but fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is also a perfect location for those who wish to go walking, and meant we could leave the car at the house. The hosts - Linda and Peter - made us feel very much at home, and were at hand for anything we needed to ask, but at the same time, totally unobtrusive. We'd strongly recommend this lovely house to anyone wishing to visit the island.

Appartement agréable, décoré avec goût et calme. Le descriptif et les photos sont conformes à l'annonce. Logement de caractère, bien équipé, calme avec une vue montagne. Lit de bonne qualité, logement propre. Peter et Linda vous accueillent parfaitement avec de gentilles attentions pour les papilles (boissons dans le frigo, fruits, gâteaux). Logement situé dans un petit village très très calme, dans le nord de l'île mais ce n'est pas gênant car les trajets se font vite sur ces routes tranquilles. Nous conseillons franchement.

Beautiful location, relaxing holiday. This is an amazing place to stay, many beautiful views and walks locally. We used the outside space upstairs for sun bathing during the day, when it got a little warm we took advantage of the outside shower, at night we used it for stargazing. The outside area downstairs was great for breakfast and evening meals. We had everything we needed to hand, even having the opportunity to pick figs from the tree in the garden. Peter and Linda are great hosts, they are there when you need them but not intrusive at all. We have no negatives to report, thank you Peter and Linda.

Off-the-beaten-track perfection
We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at Casita la Cabra, nestled in the traditional village of Maguez. The Casita is well equipped and comfortable, with a private balcony for soaking up the sunshine and a shaded patio looking out onto the garden where we enjoyed having breakfast amongst the local plants and birds flitting though. Our hosts Linda and Peter were very helpful in providing local information and the village is well placed for interesting walks in the surrounding hillsides or trips to local attractions. Highly recommended!

Wunderschönes Casa Rural im Norden der Insel
Casita la cabra ist ein sehr schönes kanarisches Haus mit viel Charme.Liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Eine schöne Terasse mit Blick in den schön angelegten Garten und eine tolle Sonnenterasse vor dem Schlafzimmer mit herrlichem Blick auf die Berge und das Meer. Das Haus liegt in dem kleinen Dorf Maguez,im Norden der Insel. Es gibt ein kleines Lädchen direkt um die Ecke und ein größeres Lebensmittelgeschäft ,knapp 10 Minuten Fußweg. Der schöne Strand in Arrieta ist mit dem Auto in knapp einer viertel Stunde erreicht,weitere lohnenswerte Ausflugsziele sind in der Nähe. Wir haben 3 Wochen Urlaub in diesem schönen,ruhigen Haus sehr genossen. Linda und Peter sind sehr freundliche,unaufdringliche Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne im nächsten Jahr wieder.

Of the beaten track on a bus route to anywhere on the island. peaceful and perfect. Owners very helpful and friendly. At night you can lay on the balcony and watch either the sunset or the stars and satellites. Shop and restaurant in the village. Plenty of walks. 10th visit so it must be the right place for us.
