Casita AmanecerTabayesco

Tabayesco is a sleepy, typically Spanish and very picturesque village. Arrieta is a ten minute walk away where you will find an excellent supermarket, wonderful blue flag beach, and fish restaurants that are renowned throughout the Island. Costa Teguise, a family tourist resort, is a 15-minute driveaway, as is Teguise old town where many of the island’s best restaurants are to be found. Haria (the land of a thousand palms) is only ten minutes away and is a beautiful traditional village that is well worth a visit, and host to the Saturday artesanal market. Just 15 minutes to the north you will reach the village of Orzola – A quaint fishing village located at the northern most tip of the island at the end of a scenic drive. This is where the ferry departs twice daily for the island of La Graciosa and where the famous fish restaurant “Charco Viejo” is located.

Some reviews for Casita Amanecer

  • Beyond expectations

We chose this property because we were looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing with access to good walking and reasonably close to shops and good restaurants. It more than met our needs. We were given a warm welcome, helpful advice and even a map and book of walks. After that we were left in peace but knowing that we could easily ask if we needed anything. The casita was spacious, pleasantly furnished with everything we needed. It is very peaceful. Arrieta is a short drive away and has good restaurants - there is clear information about these and other facilities and places of interest in the local area. We would certainly be very keen to return.

  • A perfect holiday hideaway heaven

With breath taking views and chilled out location we had to come on line to recommend this little piece of Lanzarote heaven. It is the most amazing destination to recharge tired batteries. Huge thanks to our hosts Jan and Jayne who live just up the hill and provided us with this holiday paradise and who were on hand to give us advice and help whenever needed and really went the extra mile to make sure our holiday was the best. Absolutely amazing holiday on all fronts giving us much needed peace and tranquillity, plenty of privacy and views across lovely gardens, a surround of nestled mountains and hillsides and ocean views. We also found the casita great value for money and our stay was very quiet and relaxing throughout. The villa has several suntrap terraces that we used to read and chill on and enjoy alfresco eating and sunbathing. And we were blown away by the sunrise that we watched right in front of us from the big bedroom window. Inside the casita is very homely and gives everything we needed for our holiday with books, DVDs and a good choice of TV stations. From the villa you can also see Arrieta beach that is walkable or a simple coast downhill in the car and you must try out the beach restaurant / bar that is located right on the beachfront. We ate fish that had been caught locally that morning and made even more special with the smell of surf and the sound of lapping waves as you eat. Arrieta also has a collection of supermarkets and restaurants and is a lovely little town to walk around complete with natural ocean swimming pools. Or drive northwards out of town and in 5 minutes to find a fantastic sandy lagoon and beach to spend a day snorkelling, sunbathing and reading. Other towns of Costa Teguise and Arrecife are only a short drive away if you fancy a trip into a larger town too. We did twice but enjoyed the peace and privacy of the casita too much to venture out too often! The only downside … we had to come home! Thank you Jan and Jayne … we will be booking again and can’t wait to come back!

  • Perfect location

The Casita is truly in the perfect location, only a 25 minute drive from the airport. Far enough away from the busy tourist resorts, but close enough to enjoy traditional Lanzarote amenities. For the energetic, it is within very pleasant walking distance of the beach, swimming in the sea is a delight. The facilities at the Casita are also perfect, very comfortable spotlessly clean and totally peaceful. We will definitely be going back.

  • Fabulous Villa

We can not recommend the villa highly enough. It is set in a stunning location, with views to the sea from every aspect and nestled in a beautifully tended gardens . The villa is located in the grounds of Jan and Jayne house but despite the proximity we felt secluded and private . You receive a warm welcome and when we did need help eg finding a dentist Jan and Jayne were fabulous. The villa has everything you need and more, It is very well thought out and comfy. Outside you have a choice of Sun terraces to bask on. We did visit the many delights of northern lanzarote but also spent many happy hours chilling at the villa. We will definitely be going back. The only downside to this treasure of a place is getting over the holiday blues now we're home! Sally and Seamus Quinn.

  • A Little Gem – away from it all

We spent 12 blissful days staying in this light, comfortable casita, perched above the pretty village of Tabayesco in the north of the island. It is nestled in a large garden full of cactus and local trees, which is wonderfully tended by the owners. A large sitting room with sofas, well equipped kitchenette and a huge double bed in the room to the rear with a lovely bathroom which had a roomy walk in shower. All was immaculately kept, quality linen and towels changed weekly and house cleaned beautifully. The owners who lived in the house further up the hillside were very helpful. The property also has two small patios, where you can sunbathe and have breakfast/lunch/dinner, while overlooking the little town of Arrieta on the coast which has a beach and several lovely restaurants and a supermarket. As the property is elevated it is particularly beautiful in the morning and evening when you can watch the farmers across the valley tending to their fields and listen to the birds calling in the mountains behind or the waves on the beach. Finally it is very good value for money and perfect for people who like peace and quiet.

  • The most perfect hideaway on the island

We are just back from another stay in this amazing Casita (little house)and have already booked our next one. We love the seclusion and peace it offers away from the bigger resorts on the Island . Peace to soak up the stunning views from one of the two terraces that the casita has. A five minute drive takes you to the most beautiful unspoilt beach where you can watch the tide come in to fill up a warm and turquoise lagoon. The casita is so well equipped that you will want for nothing but a larder full of local produce and local wine.

  • Perfect rural retreat well equipped and clean

On arrival we were welcomed by Jan and Jayne who proved friendly and informative throughout. We stayed for almost two weeks and never tired of it's quiet, private location providing shelter from any wind. Internally we found the casita to exceed our expectations and lack for nothing and it was a joy to wake up to the view through the arch window to Arrieta and the coast. We walked to Arrieta during the daytime and evening - a torch was provided in the casita - 15 to 30 minutes depending on direction and amount of food/drink consumed. Approach from the road is via a maintained hard core track which is suitable for motor vehicles however due to heavy rain in the weeks before we arrived I found it prudent to carry my road bike to the casita - by the way it's a great location for cycling with some moderately challenging climbs nearby which didn't prevent me covering Orzola and Yaiza in one return ride. A vast selection of books, DVDs, CDs, WiFi and TV, including BBC/ITV and Sky provided home entertainment after an evening meal at home or at the Arepera bar in Mala (be prepared to share the plates are LARGE). We have scores of experiences in rental properties and found no faults with this providing a most relaxing and homely stay.

  • Peace and comfort in Lanzarote

Casita Amanacer is as far removed from the "resort" image of Lanzarote as it's possible to get. In the undeveloped north of the island up a quiet track amid a magnificent cactus garden and with wonderful views to the coast, it is perfectly situated for hiking, exploring and dining in little fish restaurants - a car is essential. The property is extremely comfortable with absolutely everything you could need from basics in the kitchen to beach towels. Jan and Jayne could not be better hosts, there when needed but careful to respect guests' privacy. Lanzarote itself is full of delightful surprises, pristine white sand beaches, stunning villages and good restaurants not to mention the astonishing, beautifully protected volcanic landscape.

  • Wow!

As soon as we stepped over the threshold we wanted to buy the property! Unfortunately Jan and Jane were not forthcoming!!! If you were going to design the ideal holiday retreat for two in Lanzarote this would be it. It is positioned in the village of Tabayesco which is well placed for all that the north of Lanzarote has to offer as well as easy access to the south. It's position up a small track with views down to the sea and up to the hills makes it very peaceful and we spent many a happy hour sitting on the sheltered terraces just reading and taking in the views aided by the odd glass of wine!! As very keen walkers there are many walks either direct from the property or a short drive away. There are excellent maps and walk books provided. The property itself is very well equipped, a home from home. Jan, realizing that Judith was a keen cook even provided us with a new set of saucepans! There is a library of books which we made good use of during our month's stay. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable with glorious views out of the window. There was also an electric blanket and a small electric heater for chillier nights. Even though we did not need to use them it was nice to know they were there, something which had been lacking in other properties we have stayed in. Jan and Jane were excellent hosts. Available if we had any questions but very aware of our privacy. We had regular visits from Clifford the cat who came to make sure we were OK and to be fed his daily olive! He is very well behaved and if you are not an animal lover he does know that he is not supposed to enter the property!! There is a local supermarket just down the road at the garage in Arietta. We did a large shop in the Euro Spar in Costa Teguise which has a larger selection of goods. There is a small freezer provided at the property as well as a washing machine in a small outside room which were very useful as we were staying for a month. There is also wi-fi. We also visited the market on a Saturday morning in Haria where we bought fresh fruit and veg from the community co-op which also has a butcher, fresh fish counter and a deli where you can buy excellent take away home made dishes. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. We frequently stay in self catering properties both at home and abroad and this must rate as the best. We have already decided to return next February. A big thank you to Jan and Jane.

Herzliche Grüße an Jan & Jane Thomas & Petra

  • Wohlfühlurlaub pur in traumhafter Umgebung!!

  • Best Quality

Very much enjoyed our stay at this spotless, well maintained Manrique inspired casita set in beautiful Manrique inspired gardens. A warm friendly welcome on arrival set the tone for the holiday. The furniture and fittings are of excellent, comfortable quality, the kitchen is well fitted with a proper cooker and all utensils that are needed. The views are captivating. Well locating near the LZ1 highway and a decent garage shop close by. Would highly recomend to anyone wanting a relaxing break in real Lanzarote. Thank you Jan and hope to see you again.Denise and Dave. South Shields.

  • The place you’ve always searched for; this is it!

We travel a lot and always search for a special place to stay (don't we all?); close to nature, away from mass tourism, but with all conveniences at hand; something to remember for a long time. This time we've truly found it in casita Amanacer! A wonderful place with a fantastic view, luxurious interior (nothing is missing, you'll be surpised how complete it is) and a little friend to welcome you when you wake up in the morning or return from daily trips; Clifford the cat will be you're guardian angel. You will have complete privacy, but still Jan and Jane will be available for help and advise, it's a secure warm feeling when you abroad. The interior of the casita is of fine quality; no cheap minimal standard items but stuff you would use at home too. We loved the shower design (and will steal the idea when renovating our own bathroom), you'll have a big bed with a wonderful seaview, a kitchen corner with all facitities, a nice living room with enormous sofas and lots of dvd's and cd's to watch on the big screen in the evenings. (in December it gets dark around 6pm). The terrace is nicely sheltered for wind but still catches the warm sun, starting or ending the day there with a coffee or Ron Miel is absolutely unforgettable. The area is great; see other reviews or travel guides / sites; we recommend the beach bar in Arrieta with addictive tapas too. Drive to Orzola; the last little beach bay on the right just before reaching Orzola is something special too, we went swimming there almost daily, no huge cold waves! We strongly recommend Casita Amanacer to every traveller who wants some rest from the crowded resorts in the south of Lanzarote. Thanks Jan and Jane for your hospitality and nice extras; our vacation was special because of you.

  • One of the best places where to stay in Lanzarote

There's not a lot to say about Casita Amanacer: it is perfect! Nothing is missing and you have all you need. Quiet and beautiful location, amazing view to the ocean (we woke up every morning with a wonderful sunrise) and a comfortable home, lovely furnished. Also inside casita NOTHING is missing, from tiny candles for a romantic dinner to BBQ, TV, STEREO, and other lot of things nicely unexpected. We have to thank Jan a lot for her hospitality, we've travelled a lot but never enjoyed a stay like the one we've had there in Casita Amanacer!!! Hope to come back soon!!! Lorenzo & Giulia.

  • Casita Amanacer, small by name big on character

Just back from 11 days in Lanzarote, the first week spent in a 'luxury' villa in Nazaret (with abnormal cold, strong gales) and then moved north for our last 4 days....and the warmer weather! The traditionally built Casita Amanacer nestles into the Tabayesco hillside above Arrieta just below the main house, and is situated amongst mature well kept gardens featuring an impressive display of local plants and trees. Boasting Tardis - like qualities, entering through the double-level patios, there is more than enough space for a couple of adults to feel at home, with everything you could possibly need close at hand. Fully equipped kitchen, Lounge, wet-room / w.c. area, and a large bedroom await, completed by an adjacent utility room ................and not forgetting the amazing early morning view from the huge bedroom window. Every part of the property was clean and well- maintained, and there are full TV facilities if needed........but who goes on holiday to watch TV? The owner was never intrusive and always around if needed (which we didn't at any time!) and despite only a short stay, we enjoyed this property as much as the rented villa. In the surrounding area, there are a couple of well stocked supermarkets providing virtually anything you would require, however don't expect a buzzing social scene after 9pm in the evenings - or even before................Arrietta's just not like that! Local Restaurants appear to have strange opening hours, but if you can work these out, then there's some excellent local fayre to be enjoyed, delivered by friendly staff. Lunchtime tapas in the beach restaurant, or a full meal in the evening - we found the quality on offer very acceptable. If you prefer, there are full BBQ facilities as well on one of the casita terraces, however, our early year timings meant it was a bit chilly in the evenings to sit out! Out and around, there are the standard tourist attractions (caves and cacti) however this part of the island is less commercial than the south, and offers some quiet beaches to explore, walks to take, or even a trip over to the island of La Graciosa (our favourite Canary island) to get away from it all. In conclusion - great property, great location.........we will return! Thanks Jan!

  • Slice of heaven

After spending four fabulous holidays at this luxury casita, we are reluctantly sharing it with you !!!!!!! Seriously, if you want a great place to stay in luxurious surroundings, where nothing is too much trouble for the lovely owners, then book straight away. If you prefer a holiday ,or break away from all the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts ,then Tabayesco is the place to be. A short drive to the lovely fishing village of Arrieta enables you to enjoy the pretty beach and excellent value for money Beach Bar. They serve the most amazing Tapas ! Lovely fish restaurants are also close by. Should you tire of the peace, tranquility and luxury surroundings of the casita, then Costa Tequise is only a 15mins drive away, whereby you can find more amazing restaurants and an abundance of shops etc. This part of Lanzarote is like stepping back in time, but with all the conveniences of modern day life. A truly magical experience! Everything is close by, or a short drive away to ensure all age groups are catered for. This amazing casita is a must for any couple wishing to celebrate that special anniversary or occasion, but really it's just for any true romantics to enjoy!
