My friend Yvonne who loves the island went out yesterday armed with her camera. Like me she loves the north. You can keep the touristy resorts get out into the REAL Lanzarote and see how wonderful  it really is.

Many of these shots are in the area around Orzola ( have you ever been?)

If you have children  ‘Caleta Blanco beach, ( the first photo )is brilliant;  there is  no better place to teach them to swim, my daughters knew it as the Blue Lagoon; it’s also great for snorkelling.

I love the walk from Arrieta to Punta Mujeres  if you are a keen walker you can go further to Jameos del Agua. The most fabulous natural swimming pools have been created its great to see the local children having fun. There are small local bars and coffee shops along the route.

Don’t forget the best fish restaurants on the island are up here..the beach bar at Arrieta is a must as is Amanacer ( get there before 1.45 for a seat outside..its just perfect.)

I told you last week about the Manrique house in Haria..you could do all this in a day…enjoy!
