UPGRADED Ryanair Adds Extra Services To Lanzarote

As local business bodies fret about the impact of Brexit on UK tourist arrivals the confidence of the island’s key carrier remains undimmed. As Ryanair yesterday announced the creation of a new summer 2017 service from Newcastle and the addition of more flights to Lanzarote from Leeds/Bradford.

The recent referendum result in the UK prompted tourist trade associations such as ASOLAN to lobby local government for anextension of the runway at Arrecife airport in order to facilitate diversifcation into further flung markets.

However there is currently little sign of UK demand dipping anytime soon. And as a result Ryanair has unveiled the extension of their winter time Newcastle to Lanzarote service into summer 2017, whilst taking the number of flights to the island from Leeds/Bradford to a total of four per week.

The news comes on the back of Jet2’s recent announcement of brand new services to the island from Birmingham Airport commencing April 2017, as competition on all UK to Lanzarote routes continues to intensify.
