Here’s our suggestions of three restaurants in Puerto del Carmen where you can find a delicious paella, packed full of flavour and using only the freshest ingredients available in Lanzarote.
Restaurante Mardeleva
We love this restaurant for it’s position overlooking the harbour of Puerto del Carmen and their fresh fish. Mardeleva can be found on Calle Los Infantes, up behind Island Watersports the dive school in the harbour. They have a lovely terrace with panoramic views, you have to try the paella marisco with a chilled white wine from Lanzarote.

Restaurante Terraza Playa
Seafood is best enjoyed when served by the sea, you can’t get much closer than Terraza Playa which is right on the beach in Puerto del Carmen. This restaurant is completely hidden from view on the Avenida de Las Playas (No 28), the easiest way to find it is to look for the steps next to Lani’s Suites by the Casino. If you want to sit on the terrace, it’s best to book in advance. This restaurant offers a paella mixta (fish & meat) and paella marisco (seafood).

Restaurante La Chalana
This restaurant which translates to The Flatboat in English is a typical Canarian restaurant situated on Calle Teide (No 38) in the harbour area of Puerto del Carmen. Patronised by the Spanish locals, La Chalana is family run and known for great food, friendly service and being less expensive than dining in the actual harbour. They offer a mixed paella (meat & fish) as well as a seafood paella.
