It’s been extremely hot this October. Normally at this time of year, it has started to cool down, but we’ve been seeing temperatures in the 30’s almost every day so far this month. I was only commented  yesterday that I can’t remember what it feels like to be cold. We do have some rain forecast this weekend, but looking at the weather radar, it might just miss us, as it’s currently in Gran Canaria and tracking to the west of us. Whenever rain is forecast, we’re contacted by clients asking about . “What are we going to do?” and “What clothes should we bring?” are common questions. For those people, here are some things worth noting.

  • We almost never get “all day” rain here. It tends to be heavy downpours interspersed with sunshine, so just shelter in a bar and wait
  • If it’s raining in one part of the island, it’s often sunny in another, so jump in the car and explore
  • The temperature doesn’t drop when it rains, so you won’t get cold. In fact, the beach or pool are fun when it’s raining.
  • There’s still a ton of stuff to do here out of the rain
  • You will still get a great tan, even if it’s cloudy. In fact, watch for sunburn
