Go for a walk!

Walk

All three resorts have fabulous promenades that run along the seafront that are flat and easy to negotiate, as well as plenty of places to stop for a tapa and a beer or glass of wine. Head inland, and you’ll find the island is full on fascinating tracks that wind around volcanoes, with stopping points at rural villages. Here’s more about walks in Lanzarote.

Visit one of the 7 attractions

Attractions

Lanzarote has seven official attractions which are all breathtaking and will give you an insight into the island’s history and volcanic origins. All are unique and well worth a visit. Our favourite is Timanfaya, where you can see some of the world’s most stunning areas, and feel the heat of a volcano for yourself. Here are the seven official attractions.

Go Scuba Diving

diving

It doesn’t matter what the weather is like at the surface when you’re on the sea bed! Lanzarote offers some of the best diving in the world with it’s magnificent volcanic reefs, benign sea life and the occasional wreck to explore. There are dozens of dive schools on the island who will take our experienced divers or give a novice their first experience of breathing underwater. Read about a “Try dive” here.

Hire A Bike or Scooter And Hit The Road

Bike

There are several bike hire shops and a couple of Scooter hire places on the island. For road bikers, the tarmac is smooth and fast and for mountain bikers we have hundreds of kilometres of trails. Here are some mountain bike routes in Lanzarote.

Hire A Car And Discover The “Other” Lanzarote

Hire Car

Head to the island’s traditional towns and villages and you’ll find they are a world away from the tourist resorts. Discover the sociedades, craft and famer’s markets and get a glimpse into traditional Canarian life. Car hire here is inexpensive – as little as €75 a week.

Go To A Market

Market

As well as the famous Teguise Sunday market, there are plenty of others to visit on the island, find out more about them here.

Visit Arrecife

Arrecife

The island’s capital boasts some of the best shops, two castles and the fabulous Charco San Ginés, which is a sea water lagoon ringed by dozens of restaurants and bars. Hop on a bus or drive there in your hire car and park in the car park underneath the Arrecife Gran Hotel.

Go To A Marina

Marina

Lanzarote now boasts no less than three marinas! You’ll find Marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero and the new marina in Arrecife. All of them have some top class shops, plenty of bars and restaurants and lots of interesting boats!

Enjoy!
